One huge step for me in accepting my own body to be beautiful was to curate the kind of media I was consuming, and to be aware of the kind of bodies the media I was consuming portrayed as "beautiful." By muting and unfollowing the Instagram accounts of people whose posts didn't add to my life, or perhaps took away from my life, and following these accounts, I was able to create a new narrative of what kind of bodies are "acceptable" and "beautiful," which is every single one of them.
